Obama appoints Bon Jovi to white house advisory board

President Barack Obama named Jon Bon Jovi to the White House Council for Community Solutions.

Bon Jovi performed during Obama’s inaugural concert. The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation works to alleviate poverty and homelessness across the U.S.

Musicians are eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first single or album. They are then voted on by more than 500 music professionals.

The humble band from Sayreville will not be among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. But President Obama names Jon Bon Jovi, a staunch Democratic supporter, to the White House Council for Community Solutions.

The 26th annual induction ceremony takes place March 14 in Manhattan at the Waldorf-Astoria.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though. On Tuesday, Jovi lead singer Jon Bon Jovi was named to the White House Council for Community Solutions by President Barack Obama.

Bon Jovi, who will have to accept as small consolation his recent appointment to a White House advisory council, which he can then hopefully parlay into an executive order forcing the Hall to take him. Or he could probably just keep cranking out potboiler blue-collar anthems for the next 20 years or so.

Rihanna’s Bon Jovi-al night

Red hot ... Rihanna answers JBJ's Prayer

MOST folk rely on Guitar Hero to fulfil their rock star fantasies.

RIHANNA, on the other hand, has turned to the real thing to carry out hers.

Dressed in a vampy red frock, the pop star hopped onstage at BON JOVI‘S gig in Spain last night.

Rather than sing some soppy ballad with leader JON, Rihanna lent her vocals to the band’s ultimate air guitar anthem – Livin’ On A Prayer.

And the versatile singer didn’t take long to settle in to her rock role, nailing the traditional hand gesture of the distortion-happy and sticking her tongue out.

Leather-vested frontman Jon couldn’t get enough of the collaboration, laughing uproariously at Rihanna’s antics.

Red-headed Rihanna is in Madrid ahead of tonight’s MTV EMAs, where she’s up for five awards.

One award Jon Bon Jovi will never win is Best Dressed Male.

Jovi is said to have dumped Lane because he caught her with his band mate Richie Sambora. Lane now married to actor Josh Brolin, says she’s not worried of the rumors and allegations because they have been removed out of her memory since it has been over a quarter of a century.

Foxborough extends curfew for Bon Jovi

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WPRI) – Bon Jovi will get to rock on inside Gillette Stadium a little later than most bands during their concert Saturday.
The Foxborough Board of Selectmen has granted the concert an extra half hour, allowing the band to perform until 11:45 p.m. Saturday.
Normally, bands have to stop at 11:15, but the police chief told the Attleboro Sun Chronicle that the crowd of 50,000 expected for the concert is more mature than most, so he’s not worried about any extra trouble.
